Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard stated that any discussion of GTA 6 on Switch 2 is a matter for Take-Two and Rockstar. The Switch 2 has demonstrated the ability to run demanding third-party titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 remaster, while GTA 6 is scheduled for the less powerful Xbox Series S. Rockstar has previously brought several of its games to Nintendo platforms but has not announced plans for GTA 6 or Red Dead Redemption 2.
Nintendo Executive Defers GTA 6 Decision
Pritchard told Variety that the company has nothing to announce regarding a Switch 2 version of the game.
“That’s going to be a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time”
Switch 2 Power and Existing Rockstar Ports
The console's improved hardware supports several high-profile third-party releases that skipped the original Switch. Rockstar titles already available on Nintendo hardware include Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, and L.A. Noire.
Close Launch Window with Zelda Remake
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake arrives on November 5, two weeks before GTA 6. Pritchard noted that Nintendo continues to target players aged 5 to 95 and aims to offer a wide range of experiences on its systems.
