There's a lake in GTA San Andreas where you can breathe underwater forever — but only because the water forgot to exist.

Ghost Lake in San Fierro's Palisades district has a bizarre water level glitch: the visible water texture is purely cosmetic. The actual "water" sits on the pond floor, meaning players can drive vehicles completely submerged with no lung capacity meter, and even see submerged cars turn invisible. NPCs can also wander in without drowning.
