An alternative cut of the GTA 6 launch trailer has started airing on television. Rockstar first used online social media ads before moving to traditional TV spots. The broadcast version contains several scene extensions and omissions not present in the online release, according to RockstarINTEL.
Airing During NBC NBA Broadcast
The trailer ran in a commercial break during the Philadelphia 76ers versus New York Knicks game on NBC. An observer recorded the spot and shared the footage online.
Differences from Online Version
The TV cut extends the clip of Raul Bautista dancing after the shower scene and the subsequent shot of Lucia on plane landing gear. It also lengthens the moment of Lucia falling after Jason nudges her and prolongs Jason reaching for a knife while in a chokehold. The version removes the shower kiss sequence and the brief view of Lucia's ankle tag while adding a short extension to Roxy's dance clip.
Shorter Spot Also Running
A condensed 60-second version has appeared separately and skips several opening scenes along with the altered segments noted above.
