Who we are

GTA VI Iran is an independent fan-run news site. The data controller for this site can be reached at info@gtaviiran.com.

What we collect

Reading the site (no account)

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, user agent and the pages you request to serve the site, defend it against abuse and produce aggregate traffic statistics.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand which pages are read and from which countries. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
  • Advertising. See the dedicated section below.

If you create an account

Accounts are optional. When you sign up we store the email address and display name you give us, a hashed password or OAuth identifier, and the time of your last sign-in. If you activate your account through our Telegram bot we also store your Telegram user ID so we can link it to your account. We do not sell this data and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies

  • locale — remembers whether you chose the English or Persian edition. One year.
  • Session cookies — keep you signed in if you have an account.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — distinguish visitors for traffic statistics.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google and its certified partners when ads are shown (see below).

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, apart from staying signed in.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info.
  • How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time through the consent banner.

Embedded content and links

Articles may embed videos from YouTube or posts from X and Instagram. Those platforms may set their own cookies when the embed loads. Links to other websites are provided for reference; their privacy practices are their own.

Retention

Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short rolling period. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Account data is kept until you delete the account or ask us to.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email info@gtaviiran.com from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days.

Children

Grand Theft Auto is rated for adults. This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
