Martin Klima of Warhorse Studios told PC Gamer that GTA 6's higher price should encourage the industry to charge more for new games. According to GameSpot, he argued this shift is overdue and needed for survival as developers face closures and layoffs. Take-Two has already moved prices from $60 to $70 since 2020.
Call for Industry-Wide Price Increases
Klima noted that Rockstar and Take-Two are among the few companies positioned to raise prices without fear, and he hopes GTA 6 will set the example for others.
“Now, hopefully, GTA will blaze the trail, and it will allow us to increase the cost”
