Premium Edition Leads Early Pre-Orders
Zelnick stated that current pre-order data shows the higher-priced Ultimate Edition outselling the standard version. He attributed the split to the most committed fans placing orders first rather than a broad market preference.
“Actually, it is skewing more to the premium edition. That might be a reflection of the fact that the most avid consumers are the ones who are pre-ordering now.”
Pricing Strategy Mirrors GTA 5 Approach

The standard edition costs $80 while the Ultimate Edition is priced at $100 with additional digital content. Zelnick indicated that retailers control their own discounts but emphasized that GTA 5 maintained its price for years without steep cuts, suggesting similar expectations for GTA 6.
Physical Release and Reveal Details
Zelnick noted that a disc-based physical edition after launch is still possible and does not expect the current digital-only format to hurt sales. An extended look at the game will debut on Netflix later this month before reaching YouTube and other platforms six hours later.
