The data cover only domestic digital sales from 149 days to 45 days before launch and exclude physical copies or international markets.
Pre-Order Volume Versus Recent Titles
Sensor Tower tracked US digital pre-orders and found GTA VI ahead of Modern Warfare 2 by 148 percent during the comparable window before release. That earlier title had held the top spot among games released in the prior six years. The Ultimate Edition of GTA VI alone nearly matches the base edition and exceeds Modern Warfare 2 pre-orders by more than 100 percent.
