Rockstar Games created an entire studio in Los Angeles to produce NPCs for Grand Theft Auto 6 after initial projections showed the workload far exceeded capacity. Development lead Rob Nelson told Bloomberg the numbers contributed to the first delay. The dedicated team of writers, producers, and directors was formed to protect the game's vision without cuts, according to GameSpot.
NPC Scale Prompted New Studio
Rockstar struggled to meet targets for the volume of NPCs that must be written and animated, including those that notice and react to the player carrying weapons.
