Rockstar Games has shared new GTA 6 details on character maintenance ahead of the Netflix Extended Preview. According to GameSpot, the open-world title will require players to manage the protagonists' fitness through workouts, meals and sleep, with changes to their physiques. The system echoes mechanics from GTA San Andreas while aiming to preserve each character's core identity.
Physique Changes Through Daily Choices
Jason and Lucia's bodies respond directly to player actions between missions. Regular exercise builds visible muscle while overeating leads to noticeable weight gain. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson said the goal is self-expression that still respects the characters' established traits.
Rest and Stress Mechanics
Players must also ensure the pair get adequate rest. Extended periods without sleep or repeated police chases will visibly wear on Jason and Lucia. The game begins with Jason as an ex-military drug runner and Lucia recently released from prison.
