Leonora Johnson's entire murder — from the mutilation pattern to the taunting letters sent to her family — is a direct reference to the real 1947 Black Dahlia murder of Elizabeth Short in Los Angeles. Rockstar even replicated details like the body being found near a dam and reporters contaminating the crime scene before police arrived.
