The Kuruma was almost called something completely different — and it ended up on a real FBI TV show.
During GTA III's development, the Kuruma was originally named the 'Sentinal' (not to be confused with the final game's Sentinel), with a beta internal code name of 'Intrepid'. Years later, the car got a bizarre pop-culture shoutout when NCIS featured a scene where Agent McGee explains to his confused team that 'Kuruma is the name of a car in Grand Theft Auto III — it's a Chrysler Sebring sedan.'
