GTA 6 Turns GTA 4 Scooter Brothers Meme Into Summon App

GTA 6 has adopted the name and concept of a long-running GTA 4 meme for one of its core vehicle mechanics. According to IGN, players will use an app called Scooter Brothers to have an NPC deliver their car before departing on a scooter. The addition arrives three weeks before launch and marks the first time such a summon feature appears in a GTA single-player campaign without cheats.

Meme Origin From 2008 Livestream

In 2008 a Justin.tv channel called FourPlayerPodcast hosted a session in which host Brad Simons rode a moped through GTA 4's Liberty City and began calling out to another rider as scooter brothers. The clip later accumulated more than 7.5 million views on YouTube and became a recurring reference within the GTA community.

IGN reports that the Scooter Brothers app summons a vehicle by sending an NPC to deliver it. The NPC then mounts a scooter, presumably with another rider, and leaves the area. It remains unclear whether the NPCs will deliver any spoken lines that reference the original meme.

Why the Feature Matters for Players

Previous GTA titles offered similar conveniences only in GTA Online or through cheats, while Red Dead Redemption allowed horse summons within range. In GTA 6 the trunk holds weapons and other gear, so the ability to retrieve a vehicle reduces the incentive to abandon cars. The news coincides with marketing activity ahead of the game's launch and pre-loading window, alongside unconfirmed reports of a PC release in early 2027.
