PS5 Regional Unlock Windows
PlayStation 5 digital copies unlock across 15 store regions between 11am UTC on November 18 and 6am UTC on November 19. New Zealand receives access first at midnight NZDT on November 19. Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua unlock last at midnight CST on November 20.
Several countries lack visible timestamps on their store pages, while others redirect to different regional stores entirely. Unlock timing remains fixed to the pre-order account region regardless of the player's actual location.
Xbox Region Switching for Early Play
Xbox Series consoles permit users to alter system region settings, allowing copies to unlock according to the selected store rather than the account's original region. This approach mirrors methods previously used for other annual releases and enables New Zealand timing without additional purchases.
Physical Edition Region Restrictions
Retail codes for the code-in-box physical version on PlayStation are locked to the country of purchase. Rockstar has published details on which territories face these limits, while Xbox versions avoid equivalent restrictions due to console-level region flexibility.
