Rockstar officially debunked Bigfoot in 2005 — but fans fabricated a fake quote that spawned three entirely new myths.

In a 2005 Electronic Gaming Monthly article, Rockstar's Terry Donovan and the Houser brothers stated "There is no Bigfoot, just like in real life." However, a falsified version claiming they said "but there is something in the woods" spread online and became the foundation for the Bear, Piggsy, and Woods Creature myths — rumors that persist in the community to this day despite never appearing in the original magazine.
