The Loch Santos Monster in GTA Online's Cayo Perico Heist isn't just a Nessie homage to Rockstar North's Scottish roots — it's literally built from a cancelled 'river monster' that was cut from Red Dead Redemption 2. The smoking gun? The creature's texture files are still named 'rivermonster' in GTA's code, and RDR2's files contain unused sounds and AI code for a creature that never appeared in the Wild West. Rockstar essentially exhumed a dead monster from one game and dropped it into another.
