Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, who departed the studio in 2020, told Variety he has not watched the GTA 6 Extended Look trailer and has no plans to do so. Houser now runs Absurd Ventures and said he steers clear of similar titles to avoid creative disruption while developing his own open-world projects. The comments were reported by GameSpot.
Houser's Stance on GTA 6 and Open-World Titles
According to GameSpot, Houser explained that he avoids content that could interfere with his creative process, especially given his focus on open-world games and marketing strategies. He also noted that playing such titles leads him to analyze team strengths and weaknesses in real time, which he finds distracting.
“I’m always trying to think about new ways of doing it, not sit there in some kind of comparison of what I would have done differently”
