GTA VI will qualify for The Game Awards this year. GameSpot reports the November 20, 2026 cutoff at 9 PM PT allows the November 19 launch to meet the deadline. The timing follows the usual pre-Thanksgiving schedule rather than being adjusted for the game.
Eligibility Timeline
The Game Awards website sets November 20, 2026 at 9 PM PT as the cutoff, so any title releasing before that point can be considered.
Scheduling Background
Last year's cutoff fell on November 21, showing the date was established before GTA VI's schedule and that Rockstar aligned its release with the existing pattern.
