Take-Two Interactive defended the $80 price for GTA 6 during its latest earnings call. CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors the open-world title delivers phenomenal value and that the company aims to overdeliver on what players pay. Most of the publisher's games remain at the $70 MSRP that became standard after 2020.

Speaking after the release of Take-Two's quarterly earnings, Zelnick responded to questions about how the $80 figure was chosen. He repeated the company's stance that GTA 6 will offer far more value than its cost and noted that AAA development expenses have fallen relative to two decades ago while pricing has not matched inflation.
