Take-Two Interactive has subpoenaed Microsoft and Discord to identify the source of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. Multiple clips of gameplay have surfaced online this week, prompting the publisher to pursue legal steps in New York federal court. The action targets account details tied to the leaker known as CyberLeek.
Subpoena Targets User Data
The filings request information on Discord users in specific servers and aim to obtain the identity of an alleged infringer sharing copyrighted GTA 6 material. Microsoft must respond by September 4 with relevant account data including emails and IP addresses.
Leaked Footage and Context
Clips released so far depict combat, basketball, and other activities, with one showing the word LEEK spelled in bullet holes. The leaker also promoted cryptocurrency alongside the footage, according to GameSpot.
