Partnership Between Netflix and Rockstar
Netflix described the event as a first-of-its-kind partnership that pairs the streamer with Rockstar for the first time. The company noted the timing, 13 years after GTA 5 launched in the same year Netflix began investing in original programming. Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Nonfiction Series, stated that Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments and that the platform is honored to debut the next part of the story with members first.

The extended look follows the June reveal of cover art and the opening of preorders, after Rockstar opted for new screenshots rather than a third trailer. Trailer 2 arrived nearly 500 days earlier in May 2025 and still carries the prior release date. With the game now 13 years removed from GTA 5, viewers may see actual gameplay footage that has been absent from earlier promotional material.
