GTA 6 lead characters Jason and Lucia will not be locked into a romantic relationship by the script. Rockstar North's Rob Nelson told The New York Times that players decide through their actions whether the pair ends the story as lovers or simply accomplices. The approach introduces new mechanics for managing the partnership via texts and behavior.
Relationship Mechanics and Player Input
Players will manage the connection by replying to messages and choosing how to treat the other character. Small details such as hand-holding after a store robbery can appear or vanish depending on the current state of that relationship.
